What is "let alone" means in a sentense ? How do I use it ?

Thanks in advanced !

"Let alone" is used to emphasize the extreme character or nature of something. It means "not to mention" or "to a greater degree."

I can't remember what I had for breakfast yesterday, let alone the plot details of Pride and Prejudice, which I read back when I was in high school.

"Is that a new car?"
Are you kidding? I can't afford a gallon of gasoline, let alone a new car."
