These are test question candidates for a high school midterm, so could you check if all the interpretations are correct?
In 1, is "even if" or "if" better? I think "even if" is better. In 2, Is "when" or "since" better?
I think this can depend on cotext, and one firm answer given by the test-maker would be silly.
1. Left alone, he wouldn't feel lonely. = Even if(or If) he were left alone, he wouldn't feel lonely.
2. Left alone, he felt lonely. = When(or As=Since=Because) he was left alone, he felt lonely.
3. Left alone, he will cry.= If he is left alone, he will cry.
