Does "joined" here mean "The member joined the forum on [date]" or "The member was joined the forum on [date]"?

I think that the first makes more sense. What do you think?

Yes, that's when you joined the forum (became a member). The second one makes no sense.

"The member was joined the forum on [date]"?
That is wrong, as has been pointed out above. However, you may encounter:

- "was joined" as in "That wheel was joined to the shaft at an incorrect angle". Thus, "was joined" in itself is possible, but it's used in different contexts.

- "was signed up" as in "He was signed up to the team in a hurry, and not all the appropriate checks were carried out".

Nevertheless, for the context in your OP, just use the active "joined".
