In Normal Family, David asked the nurse get the results of the samples.
The nurse said, "I wouldn't rush it , if I were you. Thing comes back positive, jig's up. "

I don't catch the meaning of the underlining sentences. Need help.

the jig is up - Wiktionary

"The jig is up" means that one's adventures in crime have come to an end. Game over.

In this case it appears to be talking about a medical diagnosis. Maybe they are testing for AIDS. If you get a positive result, then your game is over. You will die.

That's very outdated information nowadays, Dave. Not very soothing for some of our readers.

Hi, please use proper English here - not 'u', 'r', and don't place a space before a comma or period.
I'm sure you know this; it's just a reminder.
