It's your prerogative, you decide upon it.

Is the above sentence correct?
 
It will be when you delete "upon it" and change the comma to a semicolon.
 
Why "upon" is not correct?
 
"Upon" does not work after decide.

It does not work in this context.

'...upon it' is redundant.
 
If it were "decide on it" or even "decide it", I would accept redundant. But "decide upon it" is just wrong in my opinion.
 
I agree with Mike. It's completely wrong.
