Some one tells me it can be "outer leaves of bamboo shoot", but I think it is too long. I want to use it in foreign trade business, so I try to find a easy expression. If anyone can tell me, that would be great. Thanks very much.

I don't even know what exactly this thing is in Chinese. It's a shame.:shock:

When bamboo is young, it has clothes out of the bamboo shoot. And when bamboo gets older, the clothes will turn grey. I want to know the name of the "clothes" in English. Do you know what I mean?

It's quite clear. But I don't know anything about it.:oops:

Maybe other forum members can offer some help.

What about: 笋在外 bamboo shoot outers?

Maybe bamboo shells?
(Found on dictall dot com, but I can't post any links yet...)

Could you just call them "young bamboo leaves"?

HI,
Please note I'm not a teacher nor a native speaker;

After reading a wiki article on bamboo I came across the :

Hope it's what you looking for.

Cheers
