[General] Is the "a" stressed in "creative?"

I would like to know if the "a" is streesed in "creative," why it is pronounced "creadev" instead of "creative." When "attack" is pronounced attack not "adack, beacuse "a" is streesed here. I don't understand!
 
The a is stressed. In American English a t between two vowel sounds is reduced to a /d/ unless the vowel that follows it is stressed.
