[Grammar] Is " sb. takes\took some time to do sth." correct?

I was told " it takes\took sb. some time to do sth." is grammatically correct. But I'm not sure if " sb. takes\took some time to do sth." is correct. Any reply would be appreciated. Thank you all!
 
Please change your non-standard abbreviations to 'somebody' and 'something'.

You can do this by clicking Edit Thread > Go Advanced > making changes > clicking Save.

See above. Never put a space after an opening quotation mark. Don't use the abominable (in my opinion) backslash character for anything except where it's required in computer-related contexts.
