"Mulan is the latest animated Disney movie to be made into a live-action film" - excerpted from Mulan, Studio Classroom, March 2020

Is Mulan an animated movie or live-action film?

Re: Can you tell?

Well, from that sentence, it appears that it will soon be both. The original film was animated but it looks like they're making a live-action version.

Please note that I have changed your thread title.'Thread titles should include all or part of the word/phrase being discussed.'

Without knowing anything about the 2 movies, only from that sentence, can you tell that there will be a live-action movie made from a previous animated one?

Yes. Animated movie to be made into...

Yes. Animated movie to be made into...

With this kind of sentence structure "... to be... ", could you please give me another example sentence?

I just received a truckload of grapes, to be made into wine.

Does it mean that I just received a truckload of grapes which will be made into wine?

Jungle book was an animation first, then turned into a live-action film, just like 101 Dalmatians. Disney is making live-action films of many of its animations.
