I'm writing a script:
Cabin. Porch.
The officer steps up onto the porch.
Under the porch.
Ted is lying motionless under the porch, hiding. He can hear the officer's footsteps above him.
Is 'motionless' perfectly appropriate to use here if Ted is lying very still to not make any sounds or would you use another one? The word closest in meaning to motionless in my language I wouldn't use here as it would almost only be used about a person who's unconscious or dead, so that's why I'm asking.
