Hello all members!

I would like to ask you something.

Are the below-mentioned structures acceptable to you and do they mean the same?

Is it appropriate for you to do it =? Is it appropriate that you should do it? Do they mean the same?

Is it suitable for you to do it =? is it suitable that you should do it? Do they mean the same?

Thank you.

As an NES but not a teacher, I believe your sentences, in themselves, are ambiguous.

To me:

Is it appropriate for you to do it? - means "is it appropriate for you personally to do it?"
Is it appropriate for you to do it? - means "is it appropriate for you to do it at all?".

Could I ask other members for their opinions?

I don't really like "Is it suitable for you to do it?" at all, although I can't quite put my finger on why not.

I agree with Route21 that the "appropriate" sentence is ambiguous. However, it's not grammatically incorrect.

My main question is as follows:
Is it appropriate for you to do it =? Is it appropriate that you should do it?
Is it suitable for you to do it =? is it suitable that you should do it?

Is there an agreement between the structures, both in case of "appropriate" and "suitable"?

Yes, you explained that in post #1. However, it is pointless to ask us about the structure of a sentence which is not natural.
