Hi Teacher,

Please kindly advise me. How to use which one is correct?

Your cars is/are very nice.
Its legs is/are dirty.
Their children is/are cute.

What do you think are the answers?
The verb(is/are) always follows the subject.

Yes, I think "are" is the answer.

You are correct. As Ted and Matthew mentioned, subject/verb agreement is between the subject and verb. Singular subject needs a singular verb. Plural subject needs a plural verb.

Possessive adjectives have no bearing on agreement, because as adjectives, they aren't the subject. You can ignore them for the purpose of determining agreement.

Dear Tedmc,Matthew and Skrej,

Thank you so much for your advice.

Your clicking on the 'Thank' button has already obviated the need for a new post just to say 'Thank you'.

Could you tell me? How to get friend in this?
and why some thread have been closed? How to setting it?

Why [STRIKE]some thread have[/STRIKE] have some threads been closed?
Please note the correct way to ask your question.

How could you quote text from another thread at here?
please let me know.

Choose the Reply with quote button. When you quote at first, the post goes into moderation. This is to stop or reduce advertising and spam. Copy text and post it as a quote in a separate thread.

I wonder that Matthew Wai who answer me. Why did it show the "originally posted by emsr2d2"?

It mean he tried to search the post and copied it here.

I am sorry if I misunderstand. I will keep doing it better.

And here I have copied your text and added the quote box in a reply- it doesn't link to the original:

Cuase I didn't see in my thread.
