I can't decide if the tone is RISING or FALLING in this sentences:

1 - Do you travel to Spain by car or by plane?

2 - Oh! We always fly.

Can someone help me?

thanks a lot

Inflection in #2 would be falling (since it's not a question).

For #1, it would depend on the context. If it is assumed that you must have traveled by either car or plane, and the questioner is simply asking which one, then the inflection would be falling.

If, on the other hand, you might have traveled by other means (ship, train), but the questioner is only interested in car or plane (to collect some special tax, for example) then the inflection would be rising.

thank you very very much!
intonation is a problem to me sometimes...
when I talk I don't think I have any problem, but when I have to look to this type of sentence... it's another story :)

thanks again
