Hi

Nowadays I used this sentence when I was talking to one of my friends but it seemed so strange for me that I have to ask if it is correct to use In order not to have to do sth or there are some other ways to express the same thing.

Thank you

Hi

[STRIKE]Nowadays[/STRIKE] The other day, [or "Recently"] I used this sentence when I was talking to one of my friends, but it seemed so strange [STRIKE]for[/STRIKE] to me that I have to ask if it is correct to use "In order not to have to do sth", or if there are some other ways to express the same thing.

Thank you

It's perfectly correct to use that phrase. If you are looking for some other phrase, in order not to have to use that particular expression, then I suggest using "to avoid having to".

Please see my amendments above.
