A conversation between Wong and me.

Wong: This year is the 200th anniversary of Dosteyvsky's birthday.
Silver: Yes. I wonder what Crime and Punishment is about.I'll read the book in paperback.

Is the italic sentence natural? Wong once suggested that I should read it on Kindle.

It's OK but do you really need to specify that you'll read the paperback rather than the hardback? In fact, is it really important to make it clear that you won't read it on a Kindle, even if Wong once suggested you do so? Just say "I'll read it [one day]".
