What is correct : "Are you ill often ?" or "Are you often ill ?"

And is it "3 times a year" or "3 times per year" ?

The word "often" can go in either location.

If you use the word "per" it sounds more schedule. It wouldn't work with illness, which is unscheduled.

The magazine is published six times per year is the same as six times a year, however. The meaning is the same.
