Is this correct and natural?

If the company is in bad shape, it's your father's fault. He spent our family business into a three-hundred thousand dollar black hole.

I am not sure what you mean in the second sentence. How about "He mismanaged the business's fnances and landed it in heavy debt"?

I like "spent."

How do you "spend a family business"?
You don't, as a stand-alone phrase. But consider:

- He spent the business into a black hole.

- She drank herself into homelessness.

- He gambled himself into bankruptcy.

Spending, drinking, and gambling were the actions that led to ruin.

I think they work OK with the reflexive pronouns in your example sentences but not with "the business".

How about He flushed our business down...?
