[Grammar] "If I don't get some sleep, I could miscarry".

Hello, there. How are you? While I was watching a movie, I saw a lady saying,

"If I don't get some sleep, I could miscarry".

However, I have learned that 'could' should be 'can' because of the agreement of tense, or It should be "If I didn't

get some sleep, I could miscarry'.

So nowadays is it okay to express sentences in the form?

It's OK and always has been.
 
Thank you. Then how about 'If someone points out my mistakes, I would say "thank you". I think this is written in the same form and also correct. What do you think?
 
"Could" and "would" are not the same.
