1 This must mean to die- for good = forever
2 I have never heard this, but it sounds like trouble. However, it's not a standard idiom, but if you're in the soup, you're in trouble.

These expressions are not idiomatic. They are simply turns of phrase.

I speak U.S. American and have never heard the first two. Tdol is probably right about what they might mean. A bed of roses is a type of expression called a cliche. It means a very comfortable situation: Her old job was terrible, but her new job is a real bed of roses.

I would say that a cliché can be idiomatic- a phrase can be a member of both groups.
