a. I went for a swim yesterday happy.
b. I went for a swim yesterday happily.
c. I went happily for a swim yesterday.

Are all of them acceptable? or which sentence sounds more natural?

Thanks!

PS I also posted the same question on this , but all of your answers are unique to me. Hope we can discuss with each other. Thank you.

They are all unnatural.

'I happily went for a swim yesterday.'

1. I left the room angry.
2. She sat there helpless.

Why
are 1. and 2. natural sentences, but 3. I went for a swim yesterday happy is not a natural sentence?

I went for a swim yesterday happy

It is if it is describing the mood you were in when you went swimming. Happily would suggest that going swimming did not make you unhappy or made you happy. However, c) is more possible than very logical.

Why couldn't say swimming?
