Is this correct and natural?
I went for a stroll along the beach. Gentle waves splashed on the sand, frothing as they retreated. Cottony clouds drifted in the pre-dawn breeze. The moon was a smudge in the horizon, sinking at the edge of the indigo sky. Several minutes later, I saw the first rays of the sun, sprouting on the eastern horizon, spraying the sky with shades of orange and crimson.
1. Generally, when can one refer to the color of sky as indigo? I know it depends on geography and location and stuff, but can I use to to refer to the sky before sunrise or even in midnight?
2. I wanted a word to describe the smell of the ocean. Is there a particular word for that?
