Hi,

''I was thinking/I am thinking/I have been thinking that we can go and eat out tonight. What do you think?''

I'd like to ask if all three 'I was thinking/I am thinking/I have been thinking' are possible in the above sentence. If yes, is there any difference between 'was thinking' and the other two? Thanks.

I prefer "I was thinking" but the other two aren't incorrect. However, I would use "could" instead of "can". Also, I would say either "... go out to eat tonight" or "... eat out tonight" but not "... go and eat out tonight".
