Hello everybody.

I would like to know the meaning of "I was jumping out of my clothes". The whole sentence is: I was excited /that/ I was jumping out of my clothes.

Could you help me unravel the riddle?

I have found " to jump oit of skin" but I dont think it has anything to do with my question.

Wher did you find that expression? It's not colloquial.

Someone might have said it, but it is not an idiom that I recognise.

ItIt was said by an astronomer who confirmed the discovery of a new planet in the outer space.

He may have been literally jumping in loose clothes or simply mangling the skin idiom.
