I want to say the smell of something was on a person's breath.

I want to say the smell of something was on a person's breath. Can I use "soak"?

Are these correct and natural?

1. Her breath was soaked in vodka.

2. His breath was soaked with whiskey.
 
I don't think they work at all.

You can say instead: Her breath reeked of vodka.
