Hi there.

Today I was doing some practice questions and wrote:
I owe what I am today to my mother's advice that day.

Then, a correct answer was:
I owe what I am today thanks to my mother's advice that day.

Is the sentence written right above correct?
I've never seen a combination of owe and thanks to.

It makes no sense to me. Please provide the source from which you got these questions and answers.

How about the following?

1. I am what I am today thanks to my mother's advice on that day.

2. I owe it to my mother'advice for what I am today.

Well, Popri, in that case (at least) PhrasePhraseMe got it wrong.

My mother's advice made me what I am today.
