Hello.

The first two sentences are correct, in my opinion but I am not sure about the third and the fourth sentences.

1. I listen to music to relax.
2. I need to listen to music in order to relax.

3. I listen to music for relaxing.

4. I need to listen to music for relaxing.

I would use "relaxation" for 3 & 4.

I would use "relaxation" for 3 & 4.
Is it because ''for'' is followed by a noun and not gerund? I mean in 3 and 4.

Relaxing is usually used as an adjective. The noun is relaxation.

3 and 4 are no good. The thoughts should be expressed by 1 and 2.

And 1 and 2 don't mean the same thing.
