him = indirect object.

a = adjective/ determiner.

bunch = direct object.

of bananas = prepositional phrase that modifies "bunch."

Thanks a lot! I was thinking the same thing but then our teacher has a different idea, but really I think you're correct based on my previous readings.

How about this: I wrote a letter to him. Is ' to him' the indirect object? Shouldn't it be the object of the prep.?
