I believe there isn't anything like step sister, step father or step mother. Either they are your sister or father or mother or they are not. So can I say the following?

1) Someone either means you something or they don't.

2) Either you have a relationship with someone or you don't.

3) Someone is either something to you or they are not.


Please tell me the correct way of saying this.
 
"Step" in the three names simply means the person is related by marriage and not by birth.
I don't understand why you are arguing on terms that have been universally accepted.
It's like saying that a colour is either black or white and but cannot be grey.

Sorry, tufguy, but we're not going to waste our time correcting something that's nonsense. The concept of a stepfamily is common and accepted. Denying its existence is insulting to a lot of people.
There is no "correct" way of saying what you're trying to say because what you're trying to say is wrong.
