[Grammar] I am very much so looking for a new position.

Hello,
I apologize if I am going about this wrong, but I just joined today so I am new at this.

Question-
Does this sentence make sense?
I am very much so looking for a new position.

I know many people use "very much" together in sentences, and it's grammatically correct. When I saw the "so" added it just didn't sound right. Thank you!

No, that's not correct, with or without the so. Did the writer perhaps mean to say they're looking very hard for a new position, or maybe they're certainly looking for a position?

Sometimes "so" and "very much" words are put together for emphasis:

- I love you so very much!
- I'm so very much in love with you!

But it's overly poetic. Maudlin. Alone or together, they usually sound awkward and stilted, if not downright (as in your example) wrong.

Perhaps:

I am very keen to look for a new position/job.
I am very much looking forward to a/the new position.

"So very much" sounds very pretentious.
