I pronounced the word husband as 'husband' until yesterday when someone told me it should be 'huzband'. Do native speakers accept the letter 's' there pronounced as instead of [z]?

By the way, dictionaries say it is a [z] sound.

So, it is going to be /z/ instead of /s/.

I've only ever heard 'huzband from native speakers.

Dictionary is your best friend. What is written in the dictionary is how a native speaker is going to pronounce. Maybe the difference here is the accent. If you pronounce it with /s/,it is inaccurate. It is not wrong.

In AmE it is pronounced with a 'z'.
