It's exceedingly tiresome to have to correct these punctuation errors in the text of an English teacher.
You'll see careless writers of all varieties omit quotation marks when they don't think they're necessary. But we enforce strict adherence to punctuation rules here and require them. Ignoring them is no more acceptable in American English than in any other kind.I think my punctuation is acceptable in American English, isn't it?
