"Karaoke" is originated from Japanese.
We, Japanese, pronounce it "Kah-rah-oh-keh."
Do we have to pronounce it like "carry-oh-key" when we talk about karaoke with English-speaking people?
If we pronounce it like "kah-rah-oh-keh," do English-speaking people understand what it is?

Type in "karakoke definition" into google and click on the merriam webster link. It has all the different pronunciations. Click on the speaker button to hear a native speaker saying it. This goes for any word you are unsure about.

Somera’s answer is very helpful.

I will add that in my experience, most westerners will understand when you say “kah-rah-oh-keh" if the context is clear. Most of us don’t realize that Japanese people have a different pronunciation, so they might be interested to learn the difference.
