"His barb hurt more than she cared to admit".

What does it mean? I found it on Google while searching for the meaning of the word "Barb".

I'm sure we told you to bookmark OneLook.com years ago.

When you looked up barb, did you notice that there's more than one definition? Do you understand the sentence now?

Are you having trouble with the rest of the sentence? She didn't want to confess that the barb hurt.
