Hi,

1. Why did the journalist of the BBC have to add "heir apparent" in his report as I quoted as below, since the report indicated the crown prince, who is the heir?

The Infanta Cristina is the king's middle child. She has an elder sister, Infanta Elena, and a younger brother, Crown Prince Felipe, the heir apparent.

2. Is it wrong to write "apparent heir" ?

The BBC did not have to add the words 'the heir apparent". In some countries, the title 'Crown Prince' is the official designation of the heir apparent. To use both titles is tautologous.

'Apparent heir' is wrong. It is a description, not a title.

An apparent heir would be someone believed to be the heir, so it wouldn't work heir.

Wikipedia indicates Prince Charles is the heir apparent. According to the definition from Wikipedia, he will be definitely the first person in line of succession and cannot be displaced in most cases. Previously I read some news from some taboid that reported the Queen might consider Prince Willian to be the heir. So according to the definiton, the news should be not true? Correct?

There is no chance of the Queen considering Prince William​ to be her heir. The report is unfounded speculation.

It's wishful thinking on the part of the tabloids- some thought a young photogenic monarch would be better than an old man, but the old man has other ideas and has said he is not going to step aside. It might technically be possible to skip Charles and crown William, but unless we become a republic or he's dead or in a coma, Charles will be the next king.
