"hear about your father passing away" vs "hear about your father's passing"
Could you explain the difference between " hear about your father passing" vs "hear about your father's passing".
In my opinion, "hear about your father 's passing" is more reasonable because after about we should have noun or noun phrase.
I don't understand why we have the phrase " hear about your farther passing away".
Thank in advance.
