Headed to or for?

Can I end a sentence with a preposition and is the choice of preposition correct in the following sentence that I have written?
The article seeks to examine how the novels of the 21st century articulate the anxieties about the future that the world seems to be headed to.
 
You can certainly end a sentence with a preposition. There is an annoying and longstanding myth that you can't.

Your sentence would be OK if it ended with "for" or "towards".
