Hi,
"Blessed is he who acts the Columbus to his own soul." What does "act the Colmbus to his own soul" mean in here?
Thanks!
What is the source of this sentence, LeTyan?
Every one of us has in him a continent of undiscovered character. Blessed is he who acts the Columbus to his own soul.
It's apparently from a book called 'Words of Life' by Charles L Wallis
No one said that they didn't understand it. Mike explained the meaning. Columbus was an explorer who found a new world. A person who seeks and finds new parts of his/he character is like Columbus in that he/she is also an explorer. So that doesn't seem like a regular way of speaking English. It's more like a literature thing right? Maybe it is Okay that non-professionals don't understand what it means?
