I found that sentence somewhere in HERE (if you don't believe me and want to see for yourself, good luck finding it in all that text 😅).

Is it correct? I would swear that, one time, I read somewhere traveled back (insert number) years in time.

So, which structure is the correct one?

Travel back in time (insert number of years)

or

Travel back (insert number of years) in time
 
Either is correct.
 
What's the context? They could both work. Think Doctor Who.
 
When he said what's the context he meant what kind of story are you telling.

In science fiction there is time travel. Also, we travel back in time in a sense when we remember something.

When we view the light from distant stars we are in a sense looking back in time because the light from those stars travels thousands or even millions of years to reach us.
