I vaguely remember I once heard someone in movie say "he started a business and made bank".

Is "make bank" an idiom? I couldn't find it on the internet.

Is this okay?

We're gonna start a business together, make bank and retire soon and then travel around the globe.

It's slang, not an idiom. It means to make a lot of money, especially in a short time.
