Having encountered dismissive physicians in Canada, she hoped she would be better supported at home. But her arrival brought fresh disappointment. More than a year into the COVID-19 pandemic, Soares’ physicians, friends and family in Brazil had still not heard of long COVID.

The meaning of "dismissive physicians" is not clear to me. It seems to have two different meanings: One refers to that the physicians treated her with contempt; the other refers to that the physicians had no interest in her symptoms of the disease (long COVID) and simply dismissed her (refusing to give her a medical treatment).

It might be both anyways. I am not sure.

What does "dismissive" here mean?

The physicians did not give due consideration to the symptoms of long Covid

How have you excluded the possibility of that the physicians treated her with contempt:"You are overreacted. There is nothing wrong with you"?

"Contempt" is a bit strong, but you're on the right track. That's what dismissive refers to.

How have you excluded the possibility of that the physicians treated her with contempt, by saying something like "You are overreacting. There is nothing wrong with you"?
