[Grammar] haven't been vs haven't gone

Q. Do you go to the movies a lot?
A. 1. No, I haven't been to the movies for ages.(text book)
2. No, I haven't gone to the movies for ages.(my opinion)

In that case I think, we can use "been", "gone" either
 
#2 is wrong.
 
Why is #2 is wrong?
 
why does we have to use " been"?

I'm so sorry i'm a fool
 
For me, "gone" works just as well as "been".
