Hi,

Have you ever heard of this proverb "One post to a hundred candidates"?

Never. Where did you find it and what does it mean?

It's an Urdu/Hindi proverb.

Literally translation would be "One pomegranate and hundred sick". I googled but some Pakistani websites and books say, "One post to a hundred candidates",

When there's only one (desirable) thing; but everyone wants it. So it can't be divided among all the people. Do you know an English proverb equivalent to this, please?

I have never heard it used in the UK.

Once again, Untaught, please give us the context in the first post rather than have to be asked for it.
