I don't know how to describe a high school that has a program focused on a particular subject or group of subjects, sort of like a major. Can we even use the word major with high school?
"I want to go to a high school with a major in physics," said a middle school student close to graduating.
I could, of course, describe it with my own words, but I expect there's a simple and natural way of putting it that everyone would understand.
"I want to go to a high school with an extended physics program." / "...high school focused on physics."
What am I looking for?
