Get the Sack

We don't use sacked to mean "dismissed from a job" very often in American English. "Fired" is much more usual here.

Write in the USA.

I'm going to disagree with Goes on this one. I think 'get sacked' is fairly common in AmE. I don't know that I've heard 'get the sack' used much, however, so I do agree with that part.

It might be regional, too.
