Could you explain what "get bodies in the way" means in this sentence?

A big chance for the visitors to double their lead. Harry Kane has the ball high up the pitch and plays in Rodrigo Bentancur, who attempts to square it to Son Heung-min, but Brighton get bodies in the way.
