I want to learn to talk about friendship/relationships. Please let me know which of the following works:

1) Friendship/relationship fall apart/break/break up.
2) Friends/A couple drift apart.

3) Break/Break up a friendship/relationship.
4) Form/Maintain/Develop a friendship/relationship.

Also let me know if there are any better/more natural ways of saying them.

It's easier to comment when you (a) use complete sentences and (b) don't use slashes.

Is it odd to say "They broke up" when talking about two friends?
 
Is it correct to say "All my school friends drifted apart as we grew up"
