What is the difference between "for the sake of " and "for the purpose of"?
 
What is the difference between "for the sake of " and "for the purpose of"?
Offhand, I don't see any difference, but if you can use each in a sentence I might change my mind.
:)
 
.... for the sake of vanity
.... for the purpose of vanity
which one is correct?
