Hello!

I am wondering what is the difference between these two sentences?

If I were to say,

For the past 10years, I have been working at my father's
accounting office and going to school.

or

For the last 10years, I have been working at my father's
accounting office and going to school.

What is the difference
and which way is the right way to say it?

But "past 10 years" and "last 10 years" can be different.

"The past 10 years" means the 10 years that began 10 years ago and extend to now.

"The last 10 years" can mean the final 10 years of a longer period of time.

In the eighties and nineties I lived in Europe for 13 years. The first 3 years I lived in Italy, and the last 10 years I lived in France.
