[Grammar] for his cousin whom he adores

I think I need to use a comma in this sentence but I'm unsure. I wonder if "whom he adores" should be considered a restrictive or non-restrictive clause.

- He got the new gadget for his cousin, whom he adores.
 
Whether the clause is restrictive or not depends on what you mean, and you should know that better than anyone. However, it's very clear that what you mean is non-restrictive, and so you should use the comma, yes.

Most native speakers would use who in your sentences. Whom is grammatically correct, so you're operating at a very high standard grammatically. :up:
