"There are a lot of foods here" or "There is a lot of food'

There are english learning websites say 'food' is an uncountable noun but I usually hear 'foods'. Which one is right?

I would accept either of the original sentences.

So would I- I would use the uncountable form for quantity and the countable one for types.
